Autograph Night this week at Eriez!
Hammett, PA, July 10, 2013: The race night fans seem to enjoy the most is this Sunday as Eriez Speedway will hold it’s annual “Autograph Night”. At intermission all fans will be invited to come down to the track surface for a meet and greet session with all drivers in attendance who bring their cars to the front straight. All manner of items get signatures including programs, photos (available from Greg Kinnear, official track photographer), other souvenirs, t-shirts, arms, backs, and other items. Most teams also bring goodies for the fans, candy, photos, and other remembrances of the evening.
With his win in the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model feature last week, Rob Blair took the points lead away from Chris Hackett. Blair holds a 25 point edge over Hackett, a former champion. It was Blair’s third win of the season. Hackett has yet to break into the Winner’s Circle in 2013. Riding third is former champion Dave Hess, also uncharacteristically winless this season. Defending champion Mike Knight, after missing a race night due to a work-related accident, is currently sixth in the standings.
Chad Wright, a two-time winner this season, and Billy Henry, winner the first two outings in 2013, lead the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Model season title. Scott Gurdak, a former E-Mod champion new to the FASTRAK Late Models this season, is currently third. Gurdak has one win. Wright’s lead is 43-points while Henry has a slim 10 point lead over Gurdak.
Rich Michael, a three-time winner, leads the way toward the Plyler Overhead Door championship, with a huge 175-point margin just past the halfway point of the season. 2012 Champion Joel Watson trails Michael but has an 48 point lead over third running John Boyd, himself a former champion and winner of two features this season.
Ryan Scott now holds a 78 point edge over Dustin Eckman in the quest for the Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model Championship. Eckman is a one-time winner this season while Scott has four wins!. Another 85 points back in third is Chris McGuire, still looking for his first win of 2013.
Eric Ester’s has a mammoth 142 point advantage over John Phelps in the chase for the Eric Walter Tree and Stump Removal Street Stock Championship. Reigning champion Pat McGuire is only 15 points behind Phelps. Ester, winless thus far, has built his lead quietly through a string of top five finishes with his pursuers have had bad finishes interspersed with winning performances. Phelps won opening night and McGuire has two wins.
2013 Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club Challenger point’s leader Kasey Hammond drove to her second win last week and now has a 170 point edge over Wes Stull, with one win. Single winner Joe Beach is currently third, only one point behind Stull.
