Hammett, PA, June 12, 2013: This coming Sunday, June 16, is Father’s Day and Eriez Speedway will celebrate with several Give-a-Ways throughout the night. Ticket stubs will be drawn from all fathers present. The on-track action will feature regular racing in all divisions as points races take shape in all divisions.

Chris Hackett took over the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model points lead last Sunday as then-leader Rich Gardner struggled to an eighth place finish while Hackett had another top-five run.  Gardner now trails Hackett by nineteen points. Mike Knight, with two feature wins, rides third, 30 points in arrears of Gardner. Neither Hackett nor Gardner have a feature win thus far. Dave Hess currently is fourth in points. The top four are all former division champions.

Billy Henry, winner the first two weeks, has reassumed the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Model points lead over Chad Wright, a winner June 2. Henry has a slim 12 point lead. Scott Gurdak, also a winner earlier this season, is currently third, only four points behind Wright.

Rich Michael, a two-time winner, leads the way toward the Plyler Overhead Door championship with a large 95-point edges over Gary Eicher, who has not gained entry into the Winner’s Circle yet this season. Steve Simon is another seventeen points back in third. Simon is also winless thus far.

Three-time winner Ryan Scott experienced mechanical ails last week and fell from the Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model points lead. Dustin Eckman, the winner May 26, is the new points leader, by a 32-point edge over Scott. 42-points back in third is Chris McGuire, not yet a winner in 2013.

Eric Ester holds a forty point lead lead for the Eric Walters Tree and Stump Removal Service Street Stocks championship. Without a win, Ester has managed consistent top finishes to lead opening night winner John Phelps. Mark Thompson is another forty points back in third. Thompson also is winless this season.

2013 Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club Challenger champion Kasey Hammond leads the class by a very comfortable margin of 177-points! Hammond won opening night but has not visited Victory Lane since, although she has never been out of the top five at the checkers. Stephen Enlow, who picked up his first-ever feature win May 26, is second and has a 35-point advantage over Wes Stull, who got his first win on June 2.

Eriez Speedway is located on Sampson Road, just off Lake Pleasant Road in the town of Hammett, PA, 3 miles south of Interstate 90. Hammett, PA, June 2, 2013: Weatherwise it was the best night of the year to go racing after a long cold stretch with the best showing of cars this season competing. The on-track racing was hot and action packed as five drivers made their first visits of the season to Victory Lane. Boom Briggs got his first feature win of the season in the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Models and Damien Bidwell made his first visit of the season a trip to the Winner’s Circle in the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Models. Jake Finnerty got his first win of the season in the Conway& O’Malley Limited Late Model finale and Joe Beach got his first-ever in the Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club Challengers. Shawn Fawcett’s first win of the season came in the Eric Walter Tree and Stump Removal Street Stock finale, the wildest event of the evening with nearly everyone involved in a caution period at some point in the event. In Plyler Overhead Door E-Mod action it was Rich Michael making his second trip to the Winner’s Circle. Jimmy Diabo made his first trip to Eriez this summer and barrel-rolled three times at the drop of the green flag. Diabo was ok despite the dizzying ride.

The Eric Walter Tree and Stump Removal Street Stocks were first on the track for their feature with reigning champion Pat McGuire and Pat Fielding leading the 17-car field to the green. The lead cars got together in turn one, blocking the track and involving the cars of Mark Thompson, Guy Adams, and Matt Tuzynski. Both front row cars had to be towed to the pit but McGuire returned to the event during a second caution on lap one, without losing a lap. The third yellow before a lap was in was for a spin by point leader Eric Ester in turn one. When the race got underway it was Chris Withers leading the way for the first lap but then appeared to lose power. In turn four at lap two several cars got together with four cars coming to a halt. Withers used to opportunity to make repairs and return to the race without losing a lap. Early race attrition allowed two cars repaired after the first caution, Mark Tompson and last week’s winner Pat McGuire, to rise to fourth and fifth in the standings for the restart. Coming to the green Guy Adams tagged the wall hard, again slowing the race. Shawn Fawcett was the leader after restarting with Don McGuire second and Pat McGuire coming to third by lap five. At halfway Pat McGuire replaced his brother in second and was alongside the leader when caution again flew with six laps remaining, this time for Ron Johnson spinning in turn four. Joe Rohrer, Chris Withers, and John Phelps got together on the back straight on lap ten for the next of a seemingly endless series of caution periods. Another caution at lap 11 caused the officials to call for a single file restart in an attempt to finish the event. The final four laps went without incident and Fawcett went on to the win over Pat McGuire, Don McGuire, Mark Thompson, and Ron Johnson.

The Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Models had the best turnout of the season with seventeen cars reporting to the track for their feature. Boom Briggs and Darrell Bossard started on the front down with Briggs leading the way but Damon Haupt slapped the turn four wall at the end of lap one, and was unable to get to the pits, bringing I caution after only one lap. After green, Briggs again led with Chris Hackett, Rob Blair, and last week’s winner Mike Knight in hot pursuit. Ten laps in saw sixth starting Blair get by Hackett on the outside but Briggs had a near half straight advantage. Also using the high side Knight got by Hackett for third at lap fourteen. Eighth starting Hess also got by Hackett at lap eighteen. Blair closed the gap but laps ran out and Briggs got his first Eriez Speedway win of 2013 and his second of the weekend. Following the Bear Lake , PA native to the checkers was Blair, by three car lengths, then Knight, Hess, and Hackett.

The Plyler Overhead Door E-Mods started eighteen cars with Rich Michael and Shane Crotty leading the way. Michael led third-starting Greg Johnson after one lap with Crotty falling to third. Brandon Porter looped his mount in turn one after two laps, forcing a caution period. When the race resumed the front three remained the same with Crotty getting alongside Johnson but not able to get by. At lap six Porter again was involved in a yellow, this time with John Schenker and points leader Chad Carlson, relegating Porter to the pit. At the green Crotty got back to second as Johnson went high in turns one and two, falling to fourth behind Justin Carlson, who got by Crotty a lap later. With five remaining Michael had ten car-lengths over Carlson with Mike Kinney coming to third. With three to go, Steve Sornberger spun in turn four, setting up a three-lap dash to the finish. Russ Dunn looped his mount a lap after green, setting up a green-white-checkers run. Michael was up to the task, taking his second win of the season over Carlson, Kinney, who had won last night at Sharon Speedway, and Gary Eicher.

Jake Finnerty and three-time winner Ryan Scott led the Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model field to the green with Finnerty leading the way until Tyler Green looped his car in turn three. Points leader Ryan Scott retired to the pit under the yellow with front end damage. Finnerty led the remainder of the event, with one quick caution for a minor spin. Following Finnerty to the line were Steve Kania, the defending champion, then Chris McGuire, Dustin Eckman, and Tyler Green.

The Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Models had a full field of twenty-five cars for their twenty lap feature and were led to the green by Damien Bidwell and Bob Dorman. Last week’s winner, Chad Wright, quickly came to second with Dorman third. By five laps in, Bidwell had caught the rear of the field and started lapping cars but the action had to be slowed when Breyton Santee spun his car in turn one. Khole Wanzer caused the next caution period when he turned his car around in turn one at eight laps as Bidwell was pulling away from the field. With five remaining Bidwell came into heavy traffic but was able to get through while Wright and Blair battled for second with Wright prevailing at the flag. Fourth was Dennis Lunger with Mike Knight edging Mike Mitchell to fill out the top five.

The Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club Challenger feature started with pole-sitter Jimmy Diabo, making his first start of the season, getting turned into the outside wall and barrell-rolling three times down the front straight. When the race got the green again Joe Beach was the leader with Brad Cole second at the end of one lap. With two laps complete Tom Cupp spun in turn two for caution number two. At the completion of three laps Stephen Enlow was alongside the leader and they remained side by side until caution again flew as lap four when Garrett Zimmer came to a stop on the front straight. Beach then led the remaining distance to score his first win of the season over Travis Darling, Kasey Hammond, Brad Cole, and Wes Stull.

Hammett, PA, June 2, 2013: Dick Litz was one of the fan favorites at Eriez Speedway from the time the track opened in 1961. Dick competed in the very first event ever held at the track and raced until in his 60. dick holds the distinction of being the oldest man to ever win a Late Model feature at Eriez, in his 60s. Each year the speedway remembers Lotz with a 29 lap even paying $2900 to win. Dick’s number was 29 through most of his career. Mike Knight, Eriez Speedway’s reigning champion, emerged from the 29 lap Memorial for the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Models as the winner. The race ran non-stop from the drop of the green to the 4-checkered flag finish. In other action Chad Wright took over at the front of the pack on lap five of the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Model feature and never looked back, opening a quarter lap lead at the finish. Defending champion Joel Watson came from third to first on a lap three restart and dominated the rest of the E-Mod feature for his first win of the season at Eriez. Ryan Scott dominated the Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model finale. Scott led flag to flag in the caution free event. Wes Stull won the Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club finale for the Challengers.

Dave Hess Jr started the annual Dick Litz Memorial from the pole position with Rich Gardner alongside. Both drivers are former champions, as was Litz. At the end of one lap the order was Hess, Gardner, and Mike Knight, the defending track champion. Knight was second after four laps but Gardner was staying alongside in the bottom groove. The order at the front was the same at halfway with last week’s winner Greg Oakes fourth and Chub Frank fifth. Three laps past halfway, Frank moved to fourth. With seven to go Knight was right behind Hess and got by at the start of lap 24. At the checkers it was Knight for the $2900 purse, then Hess, Gardner, Frank, and Oakes. The race ran caution-free.

Last week’s winner Scott Gurdak started the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Model feature from the pole position but it was Bob Dorman leading the first lap. Before lap two could compete Skip Jackson slammed the back straight wall hard coming out of turn two, necessitating the first caution of the event. Jackson retired to the pit. At five laps into the race third-starting Chad Wright took over the lead from Dorman with Gurdak now back to third and Mike Knight fourth. With four laps remaining Wright had a quarter-lap lead over Dorman. On the final lap Gurdak got by Dorman for second. Third was a side by side finish with Mike Knight getting the spot by inches over Dorman. Points leader Billy Henry was fifth at the line.

Gary Eicher and Chad Carlson, the current points leader, started the Plyler Overhead Door E-Mod feature from the from row with Eicher leading the first lap but Carlson taking over at the end of two. Steve Simon, currently second in points, spun in lap three for caution. At the drop of the green defending champion Joel Watson came from third to the lead by the time the cars were in turn two. At halfway Watson, looking for his first Eriez win of the season, had a half straight lead over Carlson, who spun in turn two of lap eleven, but continued, allowing the race to remain under green. Mike Kinney was now second with week two winner Rich Michael third. At fifteen complete Michael was alongside Kinney and pulled ahead a lap later. When the checkers fell, it was Watson by nearly a quarter lap over Michael and Kinney. Opening night winner Steve Dixon was fourth with Eicher fifth.

Ryan Scott, winner the first two weeks and the current points leader, drove to his third win of the season in the Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model feature, leading from green to checkers in a race that went green for the distance. Following Scott to the line was Chris McGuire, last week’s winner Dustin Eckman, Dan Maxim, and defending champion Steve Kania.

The Eric Walter Tree and Stump Removal Street Stock feature started with a six-car pile-up before the entire field got to the green flag. Guy Adams, Ron Johnson, Art Edwards, Gary Fisher, Shawn Fawcett, and Eric Reinwald were all involved. Fisher, Johnson, and Fawcett were towed from the track but Fisher was able to rejoin the field before the green again flew. Edwards and Adams were also unable to continue. Lamp led the first lap under green but the 2012 champion, Pat McGuire was at the front by the end of lap two. At the halfway point, last week’s winner Chris Withers had moved to second. At ten laps in week two winner Brandon Groters spun while challenging Withers for position. At the green Mark Thompson took over second and with two to go Eric Ester got by Withers for third. At the finish it was McGuire, Thompson, Ester, Greg Fenno, and Don McGuire. Withers, with a tire losing pressure, slipped all the way to sixth at the finish.

Joe Beach and Wes Stull swapped the lead several times in the opening laps of the Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club Challengers before Stull established himself as the car to beat at lap four. Mike Pohl was second at halfway with last week’s winner Stephen Enlow third. That was the order until the final straight when Beach got back by Enlow. Defending champion Kasey Hammond was fifth.

Blair, Gurdak, Boyd, Eckman, Withers, and Enlow get first wins of season

Hammett, PA, May 26, 2013: Cool, but sunny skies greeted fans for the Patriot Sprint Tour’s first appearance at Eriez Speedway this season. Twenty-two of the winged speedsters made the trip from upstate NY for the 200th points-paying event for the tour with Scott Kreutter getting the win over Bryan Howland. The two finished first and second in the 2012 points championship with Kreutter winning the previous Patriot visit here last September.  In regular weekly action Rob Blair dominated the Super Late Models for the win, Scott Gurdak, a former E-Mod champion, collected his first Eriez FASTRAK Late Model feature win, and John Boyd, the 2009 champion, won his first E-Mod feature of the season. Dustin Eckman got his first Limited Late Model feature win of the season while Stephen Enlow won his first-ever feature in the Challenger division.

Justin Barger took off with the early lead in the Patriot Sprint Tour with Scott Kreutter second and four-time tour champion Bryan Howland third. At green Jared Zimbardi came by Howland but Howland drove back by a lap later. At halfway the leaders were in lapped traffic when at lap thirteen Dave Just spun in turn four and was collected by Adam Anderson, who then tipped onto his side. At this point in the event, the top four drivers were all past tour champions. When green flag racing got back underway Barger, the 2012 Canadian Tour champion resumed his lead but spun coming out of turn four to complete lap 17, continuing, but falling to fifth and leaving Kruetter, the 2012 US Tour champion, in the lead. Kreutter and Howland battled for the lead over the remainder of the event with Kreutter, the winner here at Eriez last September getting his third consecutive feature win of the year. With one lap remaining, Barger again spun in four and again kept moving, allowing the race to continue under green. Following Kreutter to the line were Howland, Dave Ely, Jared Zimbardi, and Mitch Brown.

Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model Winner Robbie Blair.

Five time Eriez champion Rich Gardner started the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model feature from the pole with Rob Blair alongside and Blair leading lap one. Andy Boozel came from row three to third place by lap three as Blair and Gardner were distancing themselves from the rest of the field. By ten laps into the event Boozel was closing on Gardner as Blair was coming into lapped traffic. Darrell Bossard broke into the top five at lap fifteen as caution flew when Andrew Gordon spun in turn two, putting Gardner and Boozel right on his rear bumper. A lap seventeen Boozel got by Gardner but Blair had opened his lead back to nearly a quarter lap already. At lap nineteen Bob Dorman looped it in turn two for another caution. At green Scott Gurdak came to second with Gardner getting back by Boozel to run third. At the finish it was Blair, Gurdak, Gardner, Darrell Bossard, and Boozel.

Bob Dorman and Bruce Hordusky led the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Model feature through lap two when Khole Wanzer spun in turn two. When the race resumed it was the same pair leading with Bobby Rohrer getting by for second at the end of the first lap back under green. Hordusky regained the spot a lap later but Rohrer was back alongside at five laps when Jack Young looped his mount in turn four. At the restart Rohrer got back to second with Scott Gurdak coming to third after a lap of green. At lap eight Wanzer again spun, this time in turn four, collecting Skip Jackson. Halfway through the race Gurdak was challenging for the lead but Dorman hung on till lap 12 when Gurdak nosed ahead just as Wanzer spun for the third time, causing him to be retired from the event. When the race resumed Rohrer and Chad Wright both got by Dorman, but Gurdak was opening his lead and went on to the win, his first of the year. Rohrer held on for second with Wright third and Bruce Hordusky fourth. Kyle Zimmerman got by Dorman with one lap remaining for fifth.

Plyler Overhead Door E-Mod winner John Boyd.

The Plyler Overhead Door E-Mod feature started with Mike Kinney leading the way over Greg Johnson. After a yellow at lap three, Kinney again led with Chad Carlson to second and former champion John Boyd third. After another caution at lap thirteen Boyd came to second and was using the high line to challenge Kinney. Boyd, the 2009 champion, nosed ahead in turn two of lap eighteen, then led the way to the checkers. Kinney was second followed by Greg Johnson, Chad Carlson, and Russ Dunn.

Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model Winner Dustin Eckman.

Dustin Eckman took off with the early lead in the Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model feature with Chris Ottaway right behind. Eckman and Ottaway diced for the lead with Ottaway trying the high side on several occasions but unable to get by the leader. At lap 15 Tyler Green lost power and was not able to get to the pit, causing caution to be thrown. Over the last five laps Eckman was in control with Ottaway having Ryan Scott right on his rear bumper. Scott was looking for his third consecjutive win of the season, but had to settle for third behind Eckman and Ottaway. Defending champion Steve Kania was fourth with Chris McGuire fifth.

Eric Walter Tree and Stump Removal Service Street Stock Winner Chris Withers

Joe Rohrer led lap one of the Eric Walter Tree and Stump Removal Service Street Stock feature and restarted the event up front after a lap one yellow but 2012 champion Pat McGuire was alongside at lap two and leading at lap three. By the end of five laps Ron Johnson was up to second when caution again was shown for Kyle Reinwald, who spun for the second time. By the time Don McGuire came to a halt on the track at lap seven, ninth starting Chris Withers, a former track champion, was up to third. On the first trip into turn one after the green the leader, McGuire spun but continued without stopping. Since McGuire did not stop, he was not charged with the caution and was restored to his position. Withers came to second one lap after green while Johnson fell back through the field but McGuire was opening a lead. On the final lap McGuire tangled with a lapped car and spun going into turn three. Withers led the final lap to his first win of the season at Eriez with Eric Ester second over Mark Thompson, Eric Reinwald, and John Phelps.

The Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club Challengers had Kevin Covell and Jeff Nunemaker on the front row with Nunemaker taking the immediate lead. Stephen Enlow came to second on lap two with Mike Pohl coming to third. At halfway Enlow was leading Nunemaker with 2012 champion Kasey Hammond coming to third with two laps remaining. Enlow went on to his first win with Hammond getting by Nunemaker for the runner-up spot on the final lap of the caution – free event. Joe Beach and Mike Pohl rounded out the top five. It was Enlow’s first-ever feature win.

Oakes and Michael get first of year, Scott and Henry repeat, Groters gets first-ever at Eriez!

Hammett, PA, May 19, 2013: The Dan Mc Garvie Memorial, originally scheduled for May 12, was run at Eriez Speedway Sunday night with Mother’s Day give-a-ways all evening. The on-track action was wild but fast with controversy and close action throughout the entire evening. Casey Burch led every lap of the McGarvie Memorial but Kasey Hammond, the 2012 points champion, started eighteenth but advanced all the way to second at the end of the 15-lap event.

Greg Oakes and Chris Hackett ran side by side early during the Super Late Model feature but Oakes prevailed for his first triumph of the young season.

Side by side racing was the norm in the FASTRAK Crate Late Model feature with a three-way tussle for the lead on nearly every lap. On the final lap Max Blair swung to the outside on leader Billy Henry but slid wide in turn two, allowing third-running Matt Latta to get to Blair’s inside down the back straight. Coming out of turn four the cars ran out of room with Blair slapping the wall hard while Henry went on to his second feature win of the season. In the heat of the moment fists were thrown but order was quickly restored and the incident was deemed to be a ‘racing incident’ when two first-rate drivers are fighting for position on the final run to the checkers. For Henry, it is the best start to a season he has had since starting to race the FASTRAK Late Models.

Ryan Scott seems to have regained his winning form from 2011, leading every lap of the Limited Late Model feature in a race that went green to checkers without any cautions.

Rich Michael started the E-Mod feature from the sixth spot on the grid and took six laps to get to the front, but once there, was unchallenged over the remaining distance for his first Eriez win of the new season.

Mark Thompson led eight laps in his pristine ’57 Chevy until something went wrong in the ignition and the car suddenly shut off in turn four. Brandon Groters, who had just taken over second from Eric Ester, went on to the win, his first-ever at Eriez.

Twenty-four Kandy’s Gentlemans Club Challengers started the McGarvie Memorial with Dan McGarvie’s son, Steven, throwing the green to get the race underway. Casey Burch came from third on the grid to the lead in turn one with Wes Stull, the pole car, falling into the runner-up spot. Caution flew at lap four of the scheduled fifteen laps when Leo Hanlon met the retaining wall in turn two. At five laps in Mike Pohl was second. Stull got into the wall in turn two a lap later. At green Burch again led with Pohl second and Stephen Enlow now third. At halfway the order was the same with 2012 class champion Kasey Hammond up to seventh from her eighteenth starting berth. With four to go Pohl lost the right rear wheel, erasing a quarter lap lead held by Burch. For the restart it was Burch, Enlow, Steve Keith Jr, Gary Olson, and Hammond leading the remaining 14 cars. With two laps remaining Hammond was up to second but Burch had a big lead, big enough to hang on for the win worth $500. Hammond was second with Keith winding up third, Enlow fourth, and Olson fifth.

Fourteen Super Late Models took the green for the Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Model feature. Greg Oakes and former track champion Chris Hackett led the fired to the green with caution immediately shown when Scott Johnson looped his mount in turn one. When event again got underway Oakes and Hackett ran side by side for the first two laps but then John Volpe came to a halt against the outside wall in turn two. Oakes led the field back to green and led Hackett and Chub Frank. Oakes steadily built his lead over Hackett to six car-lengths by halfway with Frank still third and Dave Hess Jr fourth. Defending champion Mike Knight was fifth at halfway. With five to go Oakes was coming into heavy traffic, narrowly missing Scott Johnson as he got sideways in turn two. Hess got by Frank with one to go but it was Oakes taking home his first win of the year over Hackett, Hess, Frank, and Knight.

Week one winner Billy Henry started the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Models from the pole with 2012 Champion Max Blair outside. Matt Latta managed to get to second by the end of lap one with Blair third when Bobby Rohrer spun to the infield, bringing caution over the speedway. After green was again on the track Latta was able to get alongside the leader but fell back behind after one lap with Blair still third. With seven laps into the event Blair got back by Latta and began to close on Henry, now with a substantial lead. At lap thirteen Khole Wanzer got sideways in turn three and came to a halt, erasing Henry’s lead. Henry was able to lead after the caution period but Joe Buccola spun in turn two only a lap later, again allowing Blair and Latta to restart right behind the leader. Blair got alongside Henry again after green but Henry was in sole command at sixteen complete. On lap 17 Blair managed to get by briefly but Henry nosed ahead again at the white flag just as caution again flew, again for Wanzer. The final restart was single file and one lap for the glory. Blair changed his line for the restart, trying the high side, getting too high in turn two and allowing Latta to pull alongside on the back straight. The two made contact coming out of turn four with Blair hitting the wall hard as Henry took the checkers. Latta wound up second with Mike Knight third, Jamie Brown fourth, and Kyle Zimmerman fifth.

The Plyler Overhead Door E-Mods were the first feature on the track with week one winner Steve Dixon on the pole with Brian Douglas outside. Dixon led from the drop of the green. By the end of three laps Greg Johnson was second with Rich Michael and last year’s champion Joel Watson fighting over third. At a restart at lap three Michael came to second and was leading at the end of lap six. At the line it was Michael over Dixon, Johnson, Shane Crotty, and Watson.

Week one winner Ryan Scott and Chris McGuire started the Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Model feature from the front row with Scott quickly establishing himself as the leader, looking for two in a row to start 2013. At halfway Scott had a substantial lead over Dustin Eckman while Andy Kania, filling in for the 2012 champion Steve Kania, was trying both inside and outside to take the spot. At lap eleven, Kania dived low coming out of four and wound up sliding into the infield but maintaining control and not spinning his mount although losing several spots. Scott continued leading, taking the checkers over Eckman, 2011 champion Chris Ottaway, Chris McGuire, and Jake Finnerty.

The Eric Walters Tree and Stump Removal Street Stocks had Mark Thompson’s ’57 Chevy on the pole with Ken Lamp outside front row. After a four car pile-up on the initial start Thompson took off to the lead with 2012 champion Pat McGuire coming to second after one lap. After a lap three restart McGuire started falling back with Eric Ester coming to second and Brandon Groters third. Coming out of turn four, Thompson suddenly lost power at lap eight as Groters came by Ester for the lead. One lap after green eighth starting Greg Fenno was second and right behind Groters. Groters was able to open a lead and go on to his first win of the year. Fenno was second with week one winner John Phelps third, Ester fourth, and Kyle Schreckengost fifth.
