JoAnne Clinger Memorial for E-Mods plus Huge Fireworks this Sunday!
Hammett, PA (July 3, 2014): The Annual JoAnne Clinger Memorial race for the Plyler Overhead Door E-Mods will be held this Sunday at Eriez Speedway. The annual event memorializes the wife of E-mod builder and promotor Jim Clinger, who passed from life several years ago. We cherish and remember JoAnne’s memory every summer. Dave Hess Jr leads the current point standing for the division although he has yet to win a feature. Hess holds a 23-point lead over four-time winner Joel Watson. The 2009 champion, John Boyd, is currently a distant third in the standings. Gary Eicher and John Boardman fill out the top five. Defending champion Rich Michael is currently events in the standings with two wins to his credit.
Defending Jay’s Auto Wrecking Super Late Models champion Rob Blair has won twice in the young season and holds a 102-point edge over former champion Chris Hackett, winless so far in the current campaign. Darrell Bossard, also winless this season, is 37 points back in third. Andy Boozel is fourth with Max Blair and Mike Knight in fifth and sixth, both with featured wins.
Matt Latta, with one win this season, leads the Bonnell Collision Center FASTRAK Late Models standings over former champion Kyle Zimmerman by only ten points. Bobby Rohrer, looking for his first-ever Crate Late Model feature win, is another 17 points back of Zimmerman. Blair has three wins in the season but due to missing a week, is back in fifth spot. Defending champion Chad Wright has one win but several pore finishes has him relegated to seventh in points, one spot ahead of single winner Scott Gurdak.
Two time winner Nate Short leads two time winner Chris McGuire in Conway & O’Malley Limited Late Models competition by 43-markers. Defending champion Ryan Scott is currently third. Other winners this season include Kelly Frederes and Chris Ottaway, now fourth and fifth in points.
With four wins this season, Brandon Groters is dominating the Waterford Hotel Street Stocks competition. Only former champion Chris Withers has defeated the leader in weekly racing. Shaun Hooks won when the Penn-Ohio Street Stocks visited and Groters did not compete. A massive 238-point lead this early on the season over Jimmy Kennerknecht will be difficult to close. The race for the runner-up spot is wide too as Mark Thompson trails Kennerknecht by another seventy points.
Jason Brightman, who won his first feature earlier this summer, currently leads the Kandy’s Gentleman’s Club Challengers points chase over winless Travis Darling and three time winner Matt Marcy.
